Quantifying return to activity post stress fracture.

Overview

Our goal as researchers at the Wu Tsai Human Performance Allianceis to improve health and performance for all. We are doing this through different studies that use data from garmin devices to understand different problems.

  1. Quantifying effective loading during return to activity post bone injury
  2. Template for providing information about the study

  3. Predicting bone injury risk
  4. In our bone injury risk study, we aim to track and predict stress fracture risk for runners. By collecting training data from smartwatches and linking it with self-reported injury rates, we are developing models to predict an athlete's risk for stress fractures. See our separate study Stanford Smart Performance Study

  5. Quantifying impact of the menstrual cycle on performance
  6. Additionally, we are investigating the impact of the menstrual cycle on athletic performance by studying changes in heart rate across the menstrual cycle. Despite media coverage, there are research gaps in this area, and our aim is to better understand how the menstrual cycle affects performance. See our separate study Stanford Smart Performance Study

With the help of donated athlete data and advanced statistical modeling, we aim to uncover trends that can optimize health and performance for all athletes.
